Karen’s Biography

Karen Schwaller is a freelance writer, author, speaker, farm wife and farm mother from Milford, Iowa. Her purpose in writing and speaking is to entertain, inspire or motivate people with a specific message in mind. She is a seasoned writer, looking at life through an agricultural lens, and telling the story of what it is to be an Iowa farm family through all of the ups and downs of farm life. She uses both humor and the heart to tell those stories. She also has a faith-based writing and speaking ability, having maintained a director’s position in her church’s religious education program for nearly 1 ½ decades. She deepened her own faith as she led a team of adults each year, working toward bringing children and youth closer to their faith and to God. She lives on a grain and livestock farm near Milford with her husband, Dave. They have three grown children who are all involved in agriculture – Emily, Doug and Dustin; and a foreign exchange daughter from Germany.
